Hot Tango Pasta Sauce (using Caribbean Chilli)

“A spicy and full flavoured taste sensation for the humble pasta sauce...”


  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large onions sliced
  • 2–3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2–3 teaspoons Screaming Seeds ‘Caribbean Chilli’
  • 1 x 440 g can peeled tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup red or white wine
  • 1 large (or 2 small) stock cube
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon each sea salt and black pepper


  1. Sauté onions and garlic in olive oil till soft
  2. Add Screaming Seeds ‘Caribbean Chilli’ and sauté a further 5 minutes
  3. Add tomatoes and red or white wine, stock cube, sugar and salt/pepper
  4. Simmer gently for 1–2 hours and add more liquid if required

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve over noodles/pasta
  • You may add 400 g of seafood, fish, chicken, or tofu in the last 45 minutes of simmering, or simply serve as a spicy salsa
  • Add more chilli if you prefer a spicier flavour

....  For this recipe, if I don't have  'Caribbean Chilli' in my pantry, what other SCREAMING SEEDS spice blend could I use instead?
