Sichuan Savoury Omlette (using Tang Sichuan)

(Serves 2)


  • 4 eggs
  • ½ - 1 teaspoon Screaming Seeds ‘Tang Sichuan’
  • Olive oil
  • 1 small red onion, finely sliced
  • ½ cup cubed fetta
  • ½ cup green or red capsicum – finely sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, quartered
  • Handful spinach leaves
  • Pinch of salt
  • Parmesan cheese


  1. In a large bowl, whisk eggs with ‘Tang Sichuan’
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet/pan – add onion & sauté until soft
  3. Add fetta, capsicum & mushrooms & sauté a further 3 mins then add spinach leaves, salt & cheese
  4. Pour in egg/spice mixture into pan,  cooking on low heat, making sure the underside is slowly cooking
  5. Once the underside is just cooked place, the skillet/pan under a hot griller to cook the top of omelette for about 1-2 minutes
  6. Loosen the omelette and serve in desired portions

To Serve:   Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese & serve with your favourite toasted bread

....  For this recipe, if I don't have  'Tang Sichuan'  in my pantry, what other SCREAMING SEEDS spice blend could I use instead?
