Dreamy Pumpkin Soup

(Serves 4-6 hearty Souls)


  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion - chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves - crushed
  • 3 teaspoons Screaming Seeds  'GARAM  MASALA'
  • 1 kilo pumpkin chunks
  • 1 sweet potato, chopped into large cubes
  • 1 large potato chopped into cubes
  • 1 large Stock Cube & a touch of Sea Salt (to desired taste)
  • Water


  1. Saute the onion & crushed garlic in the olive oil, until soft;
  2. Add  'GARAM MASALA'  & saute a further 5 minutes;
  3. Add cubed pumpkin, sweet potato & potato & saute until vegies are golden & mixed well with spices;
  4. Add enough water to cover the pumpkin/potatoes, bring to boil & gently simmer for approx. 30-40 mins or until vegetables are soft.
  5. In 2 or 3 lots, blend soup in food processor till smooth or better still - use a hand processor.

Finish off with a pinch of good Sea Salt   -  Serve with lots of fresh crusty bread & a big dollop of natural yoghurt, sour cream or cream!!  Yummmmmm!

....  For this recipe, if I don't have  'Garam Masala'  in my pantry, what other SCREAMING SEEDS spice blend could I use instead?
