 DELICIOUS DHAL


“A healthy dish to keep on hand for a quick snack …”


Ingredients:

1 large onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 teaspoons grated ginger
2 teaspoons Screaming Seeds ‘Garam Masala’
1 cup red lentils
3½ cups vegetable stock
¾ cup coconut milk (optional)


Method:

  • Sauté onion, garlic and ginger for a few minutes or until soft

  • Add Screaming Seeds ‘Garam Masala’ and sauté gently for 2 more minutes

  • Add the red lentils, stirring well for 5 minutes, then add stock

  • Bring to boil, then partially cover and simmer for approximately 30 minutes or until lentils are soft and stock is nearly absorbed. Add more stock if needed

  • If using coconut milk, stir in now and heat through gently


Serving Suggestion:  Serve warm with papadums or toasted pitta bread chips with natural yoghurt
